The "International Women’s Day Celebration" aimed to honor the achievements and address the challenges faced by women across the African continent. Held from March 1st to March 8th, 2023, Youth Voices Africa (YVA) hosted a week-long series of empowering, educational, and entertaining events. 

 

Key activities included educational school tours across Sierra Leone, Togo, and South Sudan to raise awareness about women's issues, and sharing powerful videos from girls, women, and supportive men throughout the week. The main event on March 8th in Makeni, Panlap, Sierra Leone featured a vibrant Women’s Parade, a women’s consultation, and entertainment such as quizzes and gifts. 

 

Collaborating with KAMM Artistic Europe, the celebration amplified the voices, issues, and successes of women, fostering community engagement both online and offline. This initiative aimed to celebrate the strength, resilience, and achievements of women everywhere, contributing to greater awareness and empowerment.
